Welcome to Curtis Gallery

Located in the Curtis Professional Building in Lake In The Hills, Illinois, the Curtis Gallery has become the focal point for the arts in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We welcome you to explore our site and encourage you to explore the gallery in person to fully appreciate the gifts of these fine artists.

Bart Deredowski

The mask-like faces of Deredowski are symbols of emotion. These linear gestures of expression float atop geometric atmospheres - the theatrical stage of Deredowski's world.

Maggie Deredowski

Maggie will be 4 in December. She loves to paint and lives in McHenry County.

Ewa Szady

Birth place, background origin: I was born in Poland in1987, came to the United States in 2006, after I graduated High School. My passion to paint I derive from inner circle, such as: my family, nature and friends. I always look for wayts to express myself in painting. It must come from my heart and my soul.  I am mostly self-taught artist. I have been painting for as far as I can remember. Painting is what I love and what makes me happy. It's my way to relax and express my feellings.

Cristy Corso

Cristy, 29 years old, has studied at Parson's School of Design in NYC and privately under artists such as the critically acclaimed painter & sculpture Julie and Omri Rotblatt-Amrany in Chicago.  Previously, she has shown her work throughout NYC, LA, and Chicago.  Recently, she has returned to McHenry County from NYC where she was gratefully invited to begin a new series of work at the Starline Gallery in Harvard, IL in 2007. After working as a corporate professional, for companies such as IBM, a photographer for many accomplished magazines, and having success as a working actor she accepts, "I will always be a painter. The process and its results reveal all the beauty and answers I am seeking, besides, painting won't let me go no matter how hard I try!"  Today, Cristy still considers herself a full-time artist but is also the owner of a young company, Brio Creative Concepts, which manages other contemporary artists, thinkers and visionaries alike.  For Cristy this serves as a catalyst for another vision – the art of charity
